A little bit about me as a clinician and a person

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Colorado (CSW.09924471).

I am a Certified Group Psychotherapist, a designation granted by a committee of the American Group Psychotherapy Association, indicating advanced specialization in group therapy. I have been working professionally with groups for 14 years.

I also offer consultation for individuals and groups engaged with sustainability and climate change work through my venture, The Climate Within, which is dedicated to addressing the psychological components of relating to 'nature' and human sustainability within the environment.

I'm a member of the following professional associations:

  • National Association of Social Workers (NASW)

  • American Group Psychotherapy Association (AGPA), Clinical Member and Certified Group Psychotherapist (CGP)

  • Four Corners Group Psychotherapy Society (FCGPS)

  • Climate Psychology Alliance

I served nearly 10 years as a group facilitator, outdoor educator and in higher education administration before I pursued training as a clinician. I find that the diversity of my professional experiences keeps me grounded in my humanity and helps me in my current role as a therapist.

My undergraduate work focused on self-psychology at Colorado College in Colorado Springs and I pursued clinical training through the tradition of Clinical Social Work at Smith College, where I completed clinical rotations at Bennington College's Psychological Services and the Brattleboro Retreat's Adolescent Residential program. I've since been in practice in Boulder County where I have served as a clinician at a community mental health clinic as well as a transitional program for young adults in addition to my practice in Lafayette, where I work with individuals, adolescents, families and couples. I also see clients with a group practice in Longmont. My post-graduate training includes advanced study in group dynamics, attachment theory, trauma and neurobiology, and I find that remaining current with the latest research in the field to be of great interest to me, and of great service to my clients.
